Powell’s Books
This three-story independent bookstore is full of thousands of both new and used books. Grab a book and be there for hours, you won’t be the only one. Enjoy a cup of coffee while you read as well.
Providence Park
Up to 40,000 other soccer fans from all over may join you to watch one of these games. Both teams, Timbers and Thorns, play at the stadium March through November. The Portland Thorns, with five national team players, are especially worth a watch.
Pittock Mansion
Some may consider this the most beautiful overlook of the city and it just so happens to be alongside the stunning Pittock Mansion, built in 1914. Not only can you see five different mountains on a clear day at Pittock, but on a clear night, it makes for excellent star gazing.
International Rose Test Garden
With over 10,000 rose bushes, April through October is the best time of year to wander the flowering paths of the rose garden. It is free entry and can always promise beautiful photos any time the flowers are in bloom.
Multnomah Falls
A 620ft tall waterfall, that just so happens to be the second tallest waterfall in the United States, after Yosemite falls. With a beautiful bridge stretching across the feeding river down below, this may be the most picturesque waterfall…in the world! (45 minute drive)

When attending the American Barista Coffee School, we encourage our attendees to spend some time around the Portland coffee scene. We love our local coffee neighbors and believe there’s something valuable to learn from each and every coffee shop you try out. Of course we are a little biased towards Water Avenue Coffee!
NIGHTLIFE
While Portland is hustling and bustling during the day with activities galore, the festivities don’t stop when the day comes to an end.
The 21+ crowd can enjoy a number of trendy hotspots with great atmospheres and even better drinks to go along with it.
Bailey’s Taproom
With a solid list of draft beers and ciders, Bailey’s is the place to go for the Portland beer scene. With 24 rotating taps, their selection nods its cap to local Oregon breweries.
Multnomah Whiskey Library
Located within a library, this upstairs lounge allows you to enjoy your specialty cocktails and mixed drinks in this unique space. Curled up with a book or with friends this place is a must try!
